Duties & responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough audit and influencer map for our core consumer targets and identify the most effective channels to reach and influence them
- Development of a consumer lifestyle communications strategy in line with business needs
- Development of a regional Social Media and Influencer strategy focused on eBay’s (soft) fashion & lifestyle categories
- Support the implementation of strategies and ensure that regional initiatives are in line with global communications strategic brand directives in the fashion & lifestyle categories
- Cultivate strong collaborative relationships across the global & EMEA communications teams and with local market comms teams to drive tangible results
- Creation and ownership of local conversation (editorial) calendar
- Cultivate brand enhancing strategic partnerships (celebrities/influencers) to help build the eBay’s brand credentials in EMEA
- Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with key media
- Devise and run communications programs designed to protect eBay’s brand and corporate reputation in times of adversity, change or crisis
- Provide sound counsel to the leadership teams on issue management with a range of proactive and reactive strategies, partnering with in PR, GR, Legal and business owners, to respond quickly and effectively to brand and corporate reputation threats
Reporting
- The role is a member of the EMEA communications team, reporting to the EMEA Senior Director of Communications. This role was created to ensure not only world-leading consumer communications, but also to ensure regional and global communications alignment. In additional to functional expertise, this role requires someone who knows how to build and maintain strong internal and external networks and is comfortable in a matrixed environment.
Experience required
- 10+ years of marketing communications experience at a senior level preferably in a global organization within the retail, beauty or fashion sectors
- Bachelor’s degree required and fluency in Italian, with French and Spanish highly advantageous
- A strong network of relationships within the media, from traditional to social with experience working with agencies and owning budgets for this
- Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills with a focus on planning, setting priorities, executing process, and delivering results under tight time constraints
- Validated experience of building and maintaining positive relationships with key partners
- Strong standout colleague, who thrives in a collaborative setting and works well within a matrix environment
- Excellent problem-solver with a high level of maturity and good judgment
- Ambitious self-starter; willing to take initiative with confidence
